About Matt Heet
My name is Matt Heet and I am a proud member of Hallsville UMC. I can’t exactly say when my wife and I became members, but thanks to the friendship of Mike and Cathy Hight, they welcomed us to this church that has connected our family to so many wonderful people in our community. I have been a part of the Hallsville community since 2002 when I began working at Hallsville Middle School and they haven’t got rid of me since. My wife of 12 years, Cristina, has lived in Hallsville nearly her entire life and both of us enjoy raising our twin 7 year old boys, Braden and Barrett, in this community. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention our 2 four-legged children, Stanley a French Bulldog, and Daisy Mae a Jack Russell.
I am originally from South County St. Louis where my immediate family still resides and I’m a transplant to central Missouri through the University of Missouri-Columbia. This is my seventeenth year teaching and coaching at Hallsville, where I currently teach juniors and seniors American History and Psychology, and coach girls basketball.
My motivation behind my blog is to bring positivity to social media. Often times we use the Internet to harm people or dwell on all that is wrong with the world. I want to share a message of hope and how much we can influence people in a positive manner.
